Octavio Serra Bustamante

Octavio Serra Bustamante is a research professor  of “Communication and Culture”  at UACM and an audiovisual producer. As a radio creator, he has collaborated with various public and commercial stations. Several of his productions have won awards at International Radio Biennials: Vasos Comunicantes, Gotas de plata: el cine en dosis homeopáticas, Carpe Noctem, Onomatopeyas: el cómic hecho radio, and the science fiction radio drama Invasión Hertziana. He produced the sound design for the short documentary Paradero Norte, winner of First Place at the Morelia International Film Festival. He is the author of the book Mostrología del cine mexicano. He coordinates the community outreach projects Semilla de Papel UACM and Comunidad Chilpayates. He is also founder and coordinator of the Sound Narrative Laboratory at the UACM campus in San Lorenzo Tezonco.

He joined PoéticaSonora MX in 2025 as a volunteer contributor. He has given conferences and workshops on radio dramas, digital audio recording and editing, and podcast.
