Susana González Aktories
Doctor in Literature from the Universidad Complutense of Madrid. She is a researcher and professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of UNAM, specializing in literary theory and comparative literature, with an emphasis on intersemiotic and intermedial relations between literature and other arts. She is the editor and author of several books on inter-artistic relations. She was founder and coordinator of research groups such as the Seminario de Semiología Musical (1995-2006), the Grupo de Investigación de Literatura y Música (2006-2009) and PoéticaSonora MX (2016), which she continues to lead. She is a member of academic groups such as the Seminario de Teoría y Crítica Literarias, the Laboratorio Nacional de Materiales Orales, the Red Internacional de Materiales Orales, and the Laboratorio de Literaturas Extendidas y Otras Materialidades.
In addition to numerous published articles on semiotics applied to the arts and on comparative literature with emphasis on the intermediate relations between literature and other arts, Susana has published several books, such as Antologías poéticas en México (1996), ‘Muerte sin fin’. Poema en fuga (1997), Sensemayá: juego de espejos entre música y poesía (co-author Roberto Kolb, 1997), Reflexiones sobre semiología musical (co-ed. Gonzalo Camacho, 2011), Entre artes/entre actos: ecfrasis e intermedialidad (co-ed. Irene Artigas Albarelli, 2011), and Modos de oír. Una heterofonía sobre arte y sonido en México (coed. Tania Aedo, Cinthya García Leyva, Rossana Lara, Bárbara Perea, Carlos Prieto Acevedo, Francisco Rivas, and Manuel Rocha Iturbide, 2019), Vocabulario crítico para los estudios intermediales (coed. with Roberto Cruz Arzabal and Marisol Gacía Walls, 2021), and Open Scriptures: Notation in Contemporary Art in Europe and the Americas (coed.
