Jorge David García
Mexican composer and researcher. His work focuses on the study of digital technologies for musical creation, as well as on the study of hearing and voice from perspectives related to sensorial fields. He is a full-time lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Music of UNAM and a member of the National System of Researchers. He is a member of the Red de Estudios del Sonido y la Escucha en México and of the Seminario Permanente de Tecnología Musical, where he coordinates the 2nd Encuentro Latinoamericano de Tecnología Musical, Transferencias Aurales 2024.
Regarding his artistic work, he has collaborated as a composer and sound designer in various theatre, film, and contemporary dance projects. He is a member of the audiovisual experimentation collective Epifonías, with which he develops projects related to equity, memory, and gender-affective diversity. He is currently working on the Archivo de Voces Espectrales, a research and sound creation project that he is carrying out in various Latin American countries.
He joined PoéticaSonora MX in September 2024, and in October of the same year he gave the workshop “Los matices de la voz”.
