Isabel Alcántara
She graduated in Hispanic Language and Literature from UNAM, and holds a Master’s degree in Contemporary Mexican Literature from UAM. She is currently preparing her dissertation ‘Spoken Word and Slam Poetry, the Contemporary Mexican Scene in the Light of Intermediality’.
She is part of the collective La Estirpe, with whom she organized in 2021 ‘Entreabriendo las puertas. Perspectivas actuales de la literatura fantástica latinoamericana’, in collaboration with the postgraduate course in literature at UAM Azcapotzalco.
She has collaborated as a volunteer in PoéticaSonora MX since 2018, assisting in the editorialization of the series ‘Mujeres en su lengua’ (curated by Cynthia Franco), which she accompanied with a text reviewing the contents and the curatorial process. She also participated in the conversation with Hebe Rosell and supported the first two ‘Orality’ seminars. Together with Pablo Hurtado, she presented a poster for the 4th LANMO Orality Congress (2023). She is currently in charge of PoéticaSonora MX’s contact mail and support for cultural activities.
